7 Shot in Separate Overnight Incidents In Peoria

Seven people were shot in four different shooting incidents overnight in Peoria.

Around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Peoria police responded to the 2400 block of North Sheridan Street on a ShotSpotter alert of nine rounds being fired. A woman with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to her leg was taken to the hospital for treatment. A man reportedly fired at a vehicle and fled the area.

Just after 2:30 a.m., police responded to the 2700 block of West Montana on another shooting report. A 25-year-old man was found lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his shoulder and leg.  He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police found a crime scene in the 2700 block of West Trewyn.

Just after 2:45 a.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter alert of 37 rounds fired in the 1400 block of SW Jefferson. Officers found two men, ages 22 and 29, in a parking lot. Both suffered critical injuries to their torsos and legs.

A 31-year-old woman involved in the incident on Jefferson was dropped off at the Peoria Police Department with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. An 18-year-old woman was dropped off at the hospital by a private vehicle with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to her arm.

Just after 3:30 a.m., a 34-year-old man was dropped off at the hospital with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg he suffered in the 600 block of Wayne.

It's unclear if any or all of the incidents are related, said Peoria Police Officer Amy Dotson. All incidents remain under investigation.
