The Peoria Police Department has made an arrest in the shooting death of 42-year-old Eddie Wren.
Wren was shot in the neck at Wisconsin and Nebraska in the East Bluff around 6:45 p.m. Thursday. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said he likely died instantly.
Peoria Police Lt. Michael Boland said Xavier Blake, 34, turned himself in around noon Saturday. Boland said police identified Blake as the suspect in Wren's death through witness accounts and surveillance footage.
Blake was arrested for first-degree murder. He's being held in the Peoria County Jail.
