This past week jazz guitarist Laurindo Almeida died at the ge of 77 years-old. NPR's Tom Cole prepared a tribute to this prolific artist, ho won six Grammy awards throughout his long career. Almeida was the first to ring Brazilian rhythms into American jazz.
Great Organ Goes Boom
Liane speaks with Dorothy Papadakos, head organist at he Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York. This past July, the heat wave aused temperatures in the organ loft to skyrocket, and part of the organ xploded, causing extensive damage.
