Soldiers' Bodies Were Tortured, Boobytrapped
The bodies of two U.S. soldiers, abducted by insurgents after a battle late last week, are on their way home to the United States, where they will undergo DNA testing to confirm their identities. The bodies of Pfc. Kristian Menchaca and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker showed signs of torture when there were found south of Baghdad.

California Hospitals Struggle with Earthquake Mandate
California hospitals are mandated to be safe in the event of a major earthquake. The institutions most vulnerable to quake damage are the state's small, rural hospitals. But many say the cost of seismic retrofitting is too expensive. Cy Musiker of member station KQED reports.

Credit-Counseling Firms Lose Tax-Exempt Status
The Internal Revenue Service is revoking the tax exempt status of some of the largest credit counseling agencies in the country. An IRS investigation disclosed that the firms solicited business from people seriously in debt and that they didn't provide counseling or consumer education, as required.

Hyundai Chairman Indicted in South Korea Scandal
South Korea indicts the chairman of one of its biggest companies, Hyundai Motor group. He is charged with setting up a $100 million fund to bribe politicians. The scandal has already claimed one life, a government official who committed suicide. It also threatens a pillar of the Korean economy.
