Mississippi D.A. Weighs Prosecution in Till Murder
District Attorney Joyce Chiles in Mississippi is considering whether enough evidence exists to prosecute the 1955 murder of Emmett Till. FBI investigators reopened the Till case in 2004. Federal civil rights prosecutors are hamstrung by a statute of limitations, but there is no such obstacle in Mississippi.

New underpass draft bid in Normal is higher than the one approved in November
The updated tentative price to build the Uptown underpass project in Normal is about $33.7 million. That is above the roughly $32 million bid approved in November. The previous winning bidder withdrew over concerns about timing and its ability to meet the cost.
