The jury in the Michael Bakana murder trial reached its verdict after about two hours of deliberations Friday. Bakana was accused of shooting two women in downtown Bloomington in 2021.

With the rise of pickleball comes a surge in injuries
The sport of pickleball has had explosive growth over the last 10 years. About nine million people now play in the U.S. In Bloomington-Normal, parks and rec departments have added a lot of courts, and a private concern is building an indoor pickleball facility. But along with the rise in the number of players, there has been huge increase in the number of injuries.

Bloomington mayor says proposed massage therapy ordinance needs input from businesses
The mayor thinks there is a need for more regulation of massage businesses to prevent sex trafficking, and agrees the city council did the right thing in postponing consideration of an ordinance to do that.
