Detroit's Kilpatrick Wins Second Mayoral Term
Incumbent Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick managed to defeat challenger Freman Hendrix in Tuesday's vote. Kilpatrick won another term despite being accused of using city finances to enrich himself and his family. Steve Inskeep talks with Detroit Public Radio's Quinn Klinefelter about the election.

Manhattan Prepares for Sensational Sunset
The sun will set in a blaze of glory in Manhattan Sunday, fully illuminating every cross street during the last 15 minutes of daylight. Astronomers -- and druids -- are looking forward to the phenomenon, which will be repeated on July 13.

FEMA Sets Guides for Rebuilding New Orleans
FEMA releases new federal advisories and recommendations about which areas of New Orleans are vulnerable to flooding in the future. The advisories will require that many houses be raised several feet to qualify for insurance. Residents plan to use the guide to decide whether to rebuild or relocate.

States Target Polygamy Group
Authorities in Utah and Arizona are taking new steps to try to control a polygamist group dominating twin towns on the Utah-Arizona border. The group is known as the FLDS Church and it controls the schools, police and local government. Last week, the state of Arizona raided the school administrative offices and a Utah judge froze the assets of the group.

Father, Son Await Verdict in Lodi Terrorism Trial
A father and son facing terrorism-related charges in the small California mountain town of Lodi await a verdict in their long trial. Umer and Hamid Hayat are part of a large Muslim community in that town, and some Lodi residents worry that the FBI was too eager to convict them.
