  • NPR's Neal Conan reports that security at a military facility that was bombed yesterday in Saudi Arabia had been stepped up following a truck bomb attack in Riyadh seven months ago. The fuel truck carrying yesterday's bomb did not penetrate the security perimeter around the housing complex, but the explosion was so large that hundreds of people were killed and injured. Security outside the facility is the responsibility of Saudi authorities, and questions are now being asked about what has been regarded as a very efficient police and military security system.
