Senate Hoping to Vote on Immigration Bill this Week
The Senate continues its attempt to overhaul the nation's immigration laws. Amendments added to the bill aim to increase fencing between the borders and bar illegal immigrants who've committed felonies from pursuing U.S. citizenship. Leaders hope to have a final vote on the issue by the end of the week.

Musician Billy Preston Dies of Kidney Failure
Singer-songwriter Billy Preston has died in an Arizona hospital, ending a long fight against chronic kidney failure. The Grammy-winning performer gained fame working with artists such as The Beatles, which earned him an album credit for the Fab Four's "Get Back." He also played with the Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton.

'Washington Post' Confirms Deep Throat's Identity
Thirty-three years after a break-in at the Watergate hotel, one more mystery is solved. The Washington Post has confirmed that former FBI official W. Mark Felt was Deep Throat, a confidential source who guided the newspaper's coverage of the scandal that led to President Richard Nixon's resignation. The Post's David Von Drehle interviewed Bob Woodward, who held secret meetings with Felt, and discusses the unmasking of Deep Throat.

Penn. Governor Fights Deactivation of Guard Units
The Pentagon wants to close Willow Grove Naval Air Station, located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The move would deactivate the 111th Fighter Wing of the Air National Guard. Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell has brought a suit against Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld over the Pentagon's authority to deactivate Guard units. From member station WHYY in Philadelphia, Brad Linder reports.

Buddhist Meditation: A Management Skill?
A handful of executive MBA programs around the country — from Harvard to Michigan's Ross School of Business — are teaching students Buddhist meditation techniques. It's not necessarily about teaching spirituality, but focus. There's no way to quantify whether learning how to be centered during a stressful business meeting is balancing the bottom lines at companies. But students say slowing down does help them be more effective.
