Israel Passes Law Retroactively Legalizing Settler Homes On Palestinian Land
The law voted on by Israel's parliament legalizes almost 4,000 unauthorized homes on private Palestinian land in the West Bank. Critics say the move is a massive blow to any future peace deal.

According to a report in Israeli media, Israel has hacked activists, mayors and other Israeli citizens without judicial oversight using spyware from the controversial NSO Group.
Supreme Court Upholds Supermax Prison Review
The Supreme Court rules that prison inmates have a constitutional right to not be put in Supermax prisons if it's not necessary. Supermax is an extremely restricted environment, with virtually no human contact. The High Court has approved Ohio's program of reviews for deciding whether a given inmate's crime is serious enough to merit such restrictive confinement.
