19 cannons believed from the Revolutionary War are found in the Savannah River
The mud- and rust-encrusted guns were discovered by accident as the Georgia riverbed was being dredged. Researchers suspect they came from British ships scuttled to the river bottom in 1779.
A tornado in Kansas injured several people and damaged multiple buildings
In addition to wreckage from the tornado itself, three meteorology students traveling back from storm chasing in Kansas were killed in a crash. The twister knocked out power for over 15,000 people.
