Jellyfish Take Over an Over-Fished Area
Critics of the fishing industry have long predicted that if over-fishing continues for much longer, "junk species" like jellyfish will start filling up the vacancies. Until recently, there was no evidence that the prediction would come true. But now, scientists report the largest jellyfish invasion ever, off southern Africa.

Inquiry in Iraqi Deaths Delayed by Exhumation
Marine and Army investigators are struggling to get permission to exhume the bodies of Iraqis to strengthen criminal cases against American soldiers and Marines. But their efforts are at odds with the religious and cultural sensitivities of Muslims, who generally bar disturbing a body once it is buried.

Verdi's Requiem Revived as WWII Tribute
During WWII, hundreds of prisoners in the Terezin concentration camp in Czechoslovakia performed Verdi's Requiem as a way to passively defy their Nazi captors. On Sunday, American musicians performed the same requiem in the former Nazi camp as a tribute to Terezin's victims and survivors.

Volunteers Collect Bodies In Iraq
In the past few months, volunteers of local Iraqi men have pulled hundreds of corpses from the Tigris River in the Shiite neighborhood of Kadhimiya near Baghdad. They don't get any help from the authorities.

Senate to Hold Hearings on Haditha Killings
The Senate Armed Services Committee will hold hearings into charges that Marines massacred up to 24 Iraqi civilians last November while hunting for a roadside bomber, Chairman John Warner (R-VA) said Sunday. The U.S. military is already investigating the allegations.

Series of Explosions Hit Transit Trains in India
More than 140 people have been killed by a series of bomb attacks on commuter trains in Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay. At least 400 more were injured. The explosions, at least seven in total, came during the evening rush hour in the Indian financial capital.

Good Fish, Bad Fish: A Consumer Guide
Scientists at the Oceans Alive project of the group Environmental Defense have updated their popular guide to the best and worst seafood choices. For the first time, the list indicates which fish are both high in omega-3 fatty acids -- the "good" fats -- and low in mercury contamination.
