Springsteen's one-man show closes on Broadway Saturday, then begins streaming on Netflix. He spoke to Fresh Air in 2016, admitting: "People see you onstage and, yeah, I'd want to be that guy."

NPR's Jennifer Ludden reports that at the heart of the dispute between Israel and the Palestinians is insistence on ruling the tiny, one-mile-square old city of Jerusalem, a site sacred to Jews, Muslims and Christians. Since its conquest of the city in the 1967 war, Israel has ruled the old city insisting that it must remain the undivided capital of the state of Israel. Palestinians are demanding sovereignty over, at least, the areas of old Jerusalem where Arabs are a majority.

Beth Fertig of member station WNYC reports that some members of the New York City press are having difficulty getting certian kinds of information out of the Mayor's office. New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani is enjoying immense popularity in the city as a result of programs that have reduced crime and improved the overall quality of life...but there are concerns that his administration is making it difficult to get information that is less than positive about the programs that Giuliani has implemented.

So far, the project has been a success.

NPR's Mark Roberts reports on a drama that's moved offstage in Boulder, Colorado and before the city council. A recent ordinance bans smoking in public places, and a few theater-goers filed complaints after actors lit up onstage during a performance of "Grand Hotel" at a dinner theater. The city says the law's the law; the theater claims it's censorship. The city council is set to take up the issue today.

NPR's Eric Weiner reports from the city of Hue, site of some of the bloodiest action of the war. During the infamous Tet Offensive in 1968, Viet Cong Guerrillas attacked American and South Vietnamese forces at Hue, and took the city. Americans eventually re-captured Hue, but at terrific cost. Today, the city has been largely restored and is considered the cultural heartland of Vietnam.

New Orleans musicians are angry and uncertain about their futures and the future of their hometown. Cyril Neville of the Neville Brothers says he doesn't want to return to New Orleans if it will be rebuilt as "a cross between Disneyland and Las Vegas."
