Rivian's production ramp-up is slower than expected in Normal, with more hiring planned in 2022
The electric automaker announced its first quarterly results on Thursday. Included was news that Rivian has produced 652 R1 vehicles (mostly trucks) since production began in September. That means Rivian will be “a few hundred vehicles short” of its target of 1,200 by the end of 2021.

Longtime Bloomington-Normal broadcaster Scott Laughlin remembered for his sharp wit and kind spirit
Scott Laughlin spent over 40 years as a radio host in Central Illinois. Most of that was in Bloomington-Normal. In 2000, he moved to WJBC, the community’s heritage news talk station, where he would soon take over as the morning show host and became the station’s top personality for close to 20 years.
