New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin discusses racial tensions in the city post-Katrina after Latino workers flocked to the city for the cleanup and rebuilding process. He says he expects New Orleans to remain majority African-American, but that it will have to adjust to shifting racial demographics.

U.S. Troops Push Southward Through Fallujah
The U.S. offensive against Iraqi insurgents in Fallujah continues, as the insurgency launches attacks elsewhere in the country. U.S. commanders say they control 80 percent of the city, and troops are pushing southward through the city amid frequent firefights. NPR's Anne Garrels reports.

Bloomington police, fire chiefs brief city council on 2022 performance
Police chief Jamal Simington praised the department for its efforts, handling about 69,000 calls for service and 10,000 traffic stops in 2022, leading to a total of 1,637 arrests.
