Mood Becomes Somber As Mitsubishi Closure Nears

MMNA, Inc.

Since the announcement that Mitsubishi Motor Manufacturing in Normal would close, GLT News has been checking in to see how workers and their families are coping. Like most of the people working at the soon to close plant in Normal Jerry Harcharik faces uncertainty. Harcharik has spent 27 years at the plant. Many of his friends have also been there that long. In this conversation with GLT's Charlie Schlenker,  Harcharik says they all came in together and now most will be leaving together.

1,200 employees at Mitsubishi are preparing to fashion their futures in a post-Mitsubishi environment.

WGLT Senior Reporter Charlie Schlenker has spent more than three award-winning decades in radio. He lives in Normal with his family.
