WGLT, Bloomington-Normal’s Public Media and part of the NPR Network, will host a candidate open house and a forum for the McLean County Clerk’s race on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Illinois State University. Both events are free and open to the public.
Timeline of events
The open house is scheduled from 5-6:45 p.m. The forum will follow from 7-8 p.m. with participation from McLean County Clerk Kathy Michael and challenger Joshua Crockett. Events will take place at ISU’s Bone Student Center in the Prairie Room on the second floor.
Participants
Everyone on the fall ballot in McLean County is invited to participate in the open house. More than 25 candidates are expected to be in attendance to meet with voters. Participants will be announced prior to the event.
Event co-hosts include:
- From Illinois State University: Center for Civic Engagement, Student Government Association, and The Vidette
- Bloomington-Normal NAACP
- McLean County League of Women Voters
Partners will host tables in the open house and be available for voter registration and questions.
Candidate promotions will be allowed in the open house area. No signs are allowed in the forum space because they could interfere with the live broadcast and timekeeper visuals. T-shirts, hats and pins (items worn on your person) will be allowed.
