Illinois is one of a handful of states that does not require photo ID verification at the polls. This begs the question: How do polling sites verify you are who you say? The answer is through signatures, either gotten through your original polling registration or updated through DMV records.

More than 12,000 have already cast ballots in McLean County this election.

Early voting polls are set to open Thursday across Illinois, giving voters more opportunity to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day.

Election officials in McLean County said the president's efforts to restrict voting by mail aren't affecting them, for now.

Nearly 4,000 voters in McLean County have cast ballots in person or by mail. That's about 3% percent of registered voters in the county.

The McLean County Clerk’s Office, which oversees voting through the county outside of Bloomington, and the Bloomington Election Commission [BEC], will offer early voting at their offices at the Government Center on weekdays Feb. 5 through March 16 and on the weekends of March 7-8 and 14-15.

Bloomington voters will have an extra location to vote early for the upcoming election, for just one day next week.

Both the Bloomington Election Commission and the McLean County clerk’s office say they are seeing strong turnout for early and mail-in voting ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

Early voting begins Thursday in McLean County and across Illinois. Voters can cast their ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays for the next several weeks, at locations in Bloomington.

More than 13,000 McLean County voters have cast ballots ahead of next week's election.
