Pet Central Helps

After the severe damage to Springfield's Animal Protective League and other shelters in Southern Illinois, the Humane Society of Central Illinois, Clover's Cat Club and Pet Central Helps in Normal are stepping up. Together, they are taking care of dozens of cats and dogs temporarily.

In addition to being a cat lover herself, Lauri Meins said she opened The Cat's Meow to build community and give people an opportunity to experience the "natural seritonin you get from having a kitten in your lap."

Over one hundred furry felines were on display at the 31st All Breed Cat Show last weekend, held by the Illini Cat Club.
