The head of Scouting America in Central Illinois responded to NPR's report that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth plans to cut all support to the century-old partnership with the scouts. Hegseth claimed the group was no longer a meritocracy and is designed to “attack boy-friendly spaces.”

The Boy Scouts organization is changing its name to "Scouting America" in an effort to be recruit more girls to the program. They've been included in scouting for five years.
