McBride Seeks Re-Election To Town Council

WGLT

Editor’s Note: Town Council member R.C. McBride is also GLT’s General Manager.

After four years on the Normal Town Council, R.C. McBride announced Thursday he is seeking a second four-year term.

In a Facebook announcement, McBride noted various town projects he has worked on including the Welcoming City ordinance, Normal’s train horn quiet zone, and a multifamily recycling mandate.

“The next four years will require vision and leadership, insight and intelligence, and, most importantly, political courage to make difficult decisions to continue this good work,” McBride wrote on his council member Facebook page. “Economic development has ever been more important; it’s critical to grow and retain the talent within our community.”

McBride’s decision comes a month after fellow council member Kathleen Lorenz announced she is seeking re-election.

A third councilmember, Jeff Fritzen, will see his term expire next year. Fritzen has not yet announced his intention to run in the April election.
