Police found a body Monday afternoon in a wooded area in north Normal; an identification has not yet been made.

The Normal Police Department and McLean County coroner’s office are asking for the public’s help as they investigate the death of a man whose body was found Monday afternoon in a wooded area in northeast Normal.
According to a news release from Normal Police Chief Rick Bleichner and McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder, police were called about 12:30 p.m. to an area near Greenbriar Drive and Hershey Road for a report of a body being found.

Yoder said her office has not yet identified the man or provided any additional information. She said an autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon and that more information would be released at that time.

Yoder did not say whether authorities suspect foul play.

Authorities said anyone who has traveled in the area where the body was found and may have information about the case to call Normal Police at (309) 454-9535 at (309) 888-5030.
