Three people have died after a crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Illinois Route 9 and East Road in rural Cooksville.

Two women are dead after a passenger van and an SUV collided Sunday afternoon in rural McLean County.

According to a news joint release from the Bloomington police and fire departments and McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder, the fire broke out at a home in the 700 block of East Market Street shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Bloomington Police now call the death of a 16-year-girl earlier this month a homicide investigation. But they have released few other details, including a cause of death.

Firefighters noted severe hoarding conditions and the absence of smoke alarms inside, according to Bloomington Fire Captain Frank Friend.

Illinois State Police and the McLean County Coroner say 71-year-old Alice Fulkshas died in a head-on collision on Route 150 near Downs.

Linda C. Haddad died by suicide Feb. 2, 1982, and authorities were not able to identify her using forensics of the time. The McLean County Sheriff's Office partnered with a nonprofit who uses DNA and genealogy to help identify victims.
