According to a news release issued by Normal Police Chief Rick Bleichner and McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder, police responded to the crash around 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Towanda Avenue and Shelbourne Drive in Normal.
Authorities said James J. Carroll was hospitalized and died from his injuries late Saturday night. The other driver, an 18-year-old woman, was treated and released from the hospital. They were the only occupants in the vehicles.
