Man fatally shot in Bloomington; fifth gun homicide of 2022

A man is dead following a shooting in Bloomington shortly before midnight on Friday. It’s at least the fifth Bloomington gun homicide of 2022.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. at 405 E. Mill St., southeast of downtown Bloomington near Oakland Avenue. Police were called out for a disturbance call and heard gunshots upon arrival.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with a gunshot wounds on the steps of a residence. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
