Bloomington Police have made an arrest in a January 2022 shooting death.

Officers from the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Task Force took Jaylin Bones, 22, of Bloomington, into custody Thursday at a retail store in East Peoria.

Police are seeking murder and aggravated battery charges against Bones in the death of 29-year-old Timothy Manns.

Manns was shot inside an apartment on West Jefferson Street during the evening of Jan. 24, 2022. Officers found a man shot to death when they arrived. He was later identified as Manns.

Bloomington Police have not indicated what may have linked Bones to the case. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

The department says anyone with information is asked to call detective Paul Jones (309) 434-2548 or detective Pedro Diaz (309) 434-2532.

Bond for Bones was set at $2 million.
