A developer plans to build a six-building apartment complex near Raab Road and Linden Street in north Normal, becoming the latest project aimed at addressing the community’s housing shortage.
Morton-based Ethos Design and Build wants to build the Archer Apartments complex on around 10 acres, adjacent to Constitution Trail just north of Raab Road. There would be six standalone buildings plus a clubhouse, with 136 apartment units total (mostly three-bedroom and some two-bedroom). Design plans submitted to the town June 5 also include a large picnic patio and fenced garden area.
Ethos, led by Steve Lehman, has done multifamily housing projects in Champaign, Morton and Mahomet, according to its website.
The Normal Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Ethos’ annexation request at 5 p.m. July 6 at City Hall, as Ethos looks to rezone the property for medium density multifamily use.
