Ice, Ice, Baby!: Robert Matthew Van Winkle — better known as Vanilla Ice — takes a break from home improvement to go back on the road, headlining the “I Love the ‘90s” tour at Grossinger Motors Arena with fellow ‘90s luminaries Rob Base, Sugarhill Gang, Tone Loc, Color Me Badd and Young MC. 7:30 p.m. Friday (doors at 6:30 p.m.); tickets $29-$69 at grossingermotorsarena.com.

Season of Light: This is the final weekend for the ISU Planetarium’s final show of the year, a seasonal program exploring fun cultural traditions like kissing under mistletoe and spinning the dreidel, plus Celtic, Pagan, Hopi and Nordic practices bringing light to the coldest, darkest months. 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; tickets $5 cash or check beginning 20 minutes before the show. Wandering to the Castle: Peoria roots pop band the Way Down Wanderers celebrate 10 years by headlining the Castle Theatre, a special venue for them. Nouveau Americana starlets The Burney Sisters, Columbia, Missouri-based siblings mature far beyond their teenage years, open. 8 p.m. Saturday (doors at 7 p.m.); tickets $25-$43 at thecastletheatre.com.
