Several hundred community members attended on open house last October on the City of Bloomington's proposed streetscape redesign.

The City of Bloomington has scheduled a second open house for the public to get details and provide feedback on its downtown streetscape project.

It will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.

The plans, rolled out during an open house last October, are intended to make Bloomington's downtown more friendly for pedestrians and bicyclists.

There are several streetscape options based on how much parking should be made available and whether designs should be modern, classic or a combination.

A Springfield engineering firm came up with the plans after getting feedback from surveys and meeting with city staff. The city paid $750,000 for the study.

The city has not set a timeline for when any of the changes could be implemented. They would require city council approval.

City staff has estimated a projected total cost of $25 to $30 million.
