The Ironmen defeated Downers Grove on Monday night, 53-29, in their IHSA super-sectional matchup at CEFCU Arena in Normal.

The Normal Community High School boys basketball team is one step closer to a state championship. 

The Ironmen defeated Downers Grove on Monday night, 53-29, in their IHSA super-sectional matchup at CEFCU Arena in Normal. Normal Community advances to play in the Class 4A state semifinals at 2 p.m. Friday against Palatine at State Farm Center in Champaign. If they win, the Ironmen would play for the state final on Saturday night against either Flossmoor or Winnetka. 

In Monday’s win, Jaheem Weber lead the Ironmen with 22 points. Also in double figures for NCHS were Braylon Roman with 12 and Conner Smith with 10. 

Student section tickets will go on sale for the semifinal game Tuesday afternoon. Tickets are $15 per session. General ticket information will be released on Tuesday afternoon.
