Sheriff: Bloomington man found dead in ditch was shot multiple times

McLean County authorities said Thursday that they're investigating this week's discovery of a body in a ditch as a homicide.

They also identified the victim was Ronald W. Thrasher Jr., 48, of Bloomington. An autopsy indicates Thrasher died of multiple gunshot wounds. Toxicology testing is pending.

McLean County sheriff's deputies were called out around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday to 900 East Road at 1650 North Road, just west of Bloomington-Normal. They found an unresponsive Thrasher in the ditch.

This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County coroner’s office, the McLean County sheriff’s department, and the State Police.
