A juvenile male faces attempted murder and other charges in connection with a shooting in north Normal earlier this month.
According to a news release from the Normal Police Department, agents from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, with help from the Normal and Bloomington police departments, arrested the juvenile on an outstanding warrant on Monday. His name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
The arrest stems from a shooting shortly after midnight July 20 on Traders Circle in Normal.
Police said at the time, an adult male victim was struck by gunfire. Police said Tuesday the man remains hospitalized in critical condition.
According to Normal police, the juvenile has been charged in McLean County Circuit Court with attempted murder, aggravated battery, unlawful use of a weapon for a person under 21, and unlawful possession of a handgun for a person under 18.
