Police in Normal are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in recycling materials at Midwest Fiber.

Officers say the 34-year-old man was found about 6 p.m. Wednesday amid material being processed at the recycling center on White Oak Road.

"The body was located in the processing plant at Midwest Fiber with all sorts of materials. It wasn’t with just cardboard, aluminum or anything specific as it was all being sorted. We are still looking into the location, where the recycled material was delivered from," said a police spokesperson.

An autopsy has yet to determine the cause of death. The man's name will be released later.

Normal Police said they are also working with other law enforcement agencies across the state on this case.
