The Italian restaurant Biaggi's said Monday it would offer a $10,000 reward to help solve a "heinous" armed robbery at its Bloomington location.
That robbery happened just after 2 a.m. Dec. 9 at Biaggi's, 3010 E. Empire St., on Bloomington's east side. Bloomington Police said there were two suspects, wearing masks, gloves, and dark clothing. A weapon was displayed and used by one of the suspects. They left the area on foot.
Property and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen, police said. There were no significant physical injuries suffered by the victims, police said.
In a Facebook post Monday, Biaggi's asked for the community's help finding the robbers.
"We’re offering a reward of up to $10,000 for credible information provided to the Bloomington Police Department that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects responsible for this heinous act," Biaggi's wrote.
Those with information about the robbery can anonymously contact BPD's Crime and Intelligence Analysis Unit at 309-434-2963 or email CIAU@cityblm.org. You can also text the number 847411 by texting the word "BPDTIPS", then a space, followed by your tip information.
"BPD detectives are working diligently to investigate this violent crime. I encourage anyone who has any knowledge about this armed robbery to provide information to our detectives," Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington said in a statement. "Let's work together, once again, to demonstrate this illegal conduct is unacceptable in our community and the victims deserve justice."
