The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that goes into effect at midnight through midnight tomorrow.

A winter storm is expected to pass through Central Illinois on Thursday night and into Friday.

The National Weather Service anticipates between 3 and 4 inches of snowfall in McLean County, with a winter weather advisory in effect starting at midnight, through midnight Friday.

It is the second precipitation-carrying storm front to cross the region in a week. Last weekend’s storm dumped snow south of McLean County and was followed by a cold front plunging wind chills below zero overnight.

The pending storm brings some relief from the cold, with highs expected around 30 throughout the weekend.
