Authorities are investigating what led to a pedestrian being struck and killed by a train in Normal.
Normal Police responded around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a train near the tracks at Towanda Avenue and Kays Drive. That's where an overpass takes Towanda over the tracks. The Route 66 branch of Constitution Trail is also nearby.
Officers found a 19-year-old's body near the tracks. The man's name has not been released. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
