Matthew Curry plays Dec. 12 at the Castle Theatre. The Bloomington native's sound is a blend of blues, Southern rock and jam bands.

A musician and songwriter from Bloomington-Normal has landed a record deal.

Bloomington native Matthew Curry, revered for his bluesy, Southern rock guitar playing, signed with Ruf Records this fall and will be part of the lineup for the 20th anniversary Blues Caravan Tour. The tour marks Curry's European debut; he'll join blues guitarist and songwriters Laura Chavez and Elise Frank for dates in Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Luxembourg throughout January 2026.

Before heading out on the road, Curry will play a one-night-only set at the Castle Theatre on Dec. 12. Manx blues guitarist and singer Davy Knowles opens the full band show.

Ruf Records is an independent label out of Germany, touting long-standing relationships with notable blues artists including Luther Allison and Samantha Fish.

The label plans to re-release Curry's latest album, One for the Ride. It will be available in the U.S. on Feb. 27.
