Bloomington Police Department's parking deck will be unavailable Jan. 12 and 13 while it undergoes repairs.

Sections of the Bloomington Police Department parking deck will be unavailable as a beam is removed from the top level of the deck. The work is expected to be completed tomorrow.

Contractors will replace the existing concrete beams with steel ones with a crane in order to improve the safety and functionality of the parking structure. The work will leave the deck and affected areas inaccessible to vehicles.

To ensure continued access to the deck, Bloomington Police Department said there is a clearly marked and safe pathway for pedestrians from the parking deck to the entrance, or members of the public can be dropped off at the drive entry and follow the pedestrian route. The route is highlighted in yellow in the released image.

For alternative parking, the Bloomington Public Library has allowed the use of its lower-level parking deck for visitors today and tomorrow.
