A noon hour warehouse fire on Saturday forced the closure of the Center Street bridge in downtown Bloomington for a couple of hours. Firefighters said they contained the flames to the cupola of an elevator shaft.
Because of the size of the four-story warehouse in the 400 block of Madison St., the fire department called in off duty crews.
A ladder truck used the Center Street bridge to access the building.
No damage estimate or cause of the fire is yet available.
