The American Red Cross plans to set up a resource center in Bloomington to help residents whose homes and businesses were damaged by recent severe weather.

The Red Cross will be at The Hub at the Government Center downtown from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday.

The agency said plans to offer emergency supplies — including totes, trash bags and gloves — along with disaster referrals and mental health support to help McLean County families recover.

Damage was widespread throughout McLean County on the night of April 17 as seven tornadoes tore through the county in one night.

There were no serious injuries or deaths.

The McLean County Emergency Management Agency has been compiling damage reports in hopes of securing disaster assistance.
