Carle went public in January with a bid to acquire Advocate BroMenn and Eureka Healthcare operations from Asvocate Aurora.

Urbana-based Carle is closer to acquiring Advocate BroMenn and Eureka Healthcare.

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board has approved the certificate of exemption application for BroMenn and Eureka. Carle and Advocate also have cleared a regulatory requirement with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approval.

Carle Chief Medical Officer Charles Dennis said despite the pressures on both systems from the pandemic, Carle and Advocate remain focused on the successful completion of the $190 million deal in July.

Carle still needs certificates of exemption for the Center for Outpatient Medicine and BroMenn Comfort and Care Suites.
