The rate of COVID-19 infection eased a bit Sunday with McLean County health officials announcing one new case following a recent surge.
The McLean County Health Department has confirmed 315 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. Of those, 43 remain active, with two people hospitalized and the rest (41) isolating at home.
Fifteen patients have died, and 257 have recovered.
The county’s seven-day positivity rate dropped slightly to 2.6% on Sunday after a recent spike. The county’s overall positivity rate remains 2% since the start of the pandemic.
The McLean County Emergency Management Agency said 300 people were tested for COVID-19 at the Interstate Center in Bloomington on Saturday. That’s more than double the previous high for a Saturday. The drive-through site has met or exceeded 300 daily tests six days in a row.
Prior to this week, the one-day high for tests at the site was 270.
The site is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The county reports about 15,800 McLean County residents have been tested.
