The McLean County Health Department announced seven new COVID-19 cases on Monday.

McLean County health officials announced seven new COVID-19 cases on Monday as the number of active cases dipped from a record high.
According to the McLean County Health Department (MCHD), the number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized dropped from four to two since Sunday, while the county’s seven-day testing positivity rate held steady at 1.9%. The county’s cumulative positivity rate since the start of the pandemic is 2.1%, based on more than 26,000 tests.

MCHD reported 101 people are isolating at home, while 434 people have been released from isolation and are considered recovered. Fifteen people from McLean County have died of the virus.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports on its website two positive COVID-19 tests at the Bickford House assisted living facility in Bloomington. A Bickford House employee , who refused to give their name, said the facility does not have any current COVID-19 cases. The facility also lists on its website that it has no confirmed resident cases of COVID-19

More than 800 COVID-19 tests were conducted over the weekend at the Interstate Center in Bloomington. The site has been considerably more active in recent days. The site averaged more than 600 daily tests last week.

Higher testing rates could continue as the IDPH reported Friday anyone who got tested at a testing site run by Pekin-based Reditus between July 12-24 to get tested again if they didn’t receive their results. IDPH said lab results were delayed “beyond the appropriate laboratory testing and reporting window.”

Reditus runs testing facilities in Bloomington, Peoria and five other locations in Illinois.

The testing site is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
