UPDATED 4:15 p.m. | One of the four people hospitalized with COVID-19 is in intensive care, as McLean County health officials reported 11 new cases Saturday.
There are now 110 active cases in McLean County. That includes the four hospitalizated patients, plus 106 others who are isolating at home. (The record for active cases at any given time is 121 cases on Aug. 8.)
The county's seven-day testing positivity rate held steady at 1.8% on Saturday. That's still below the statewide and national average. Our region, however, has seen its testing positivity rate climb to around 5%.
For the week of Aug. 2-8, McLean County was again in the warning level of the state's county-level metrics for the new cases per 100,000 indicator, the McLean County Health Depatrment said Saturday. Cases here have more than doubled in the past month, including 97 in just the past seven days.
The county health department on Saturday again warned against attending large, in-person gatherings where it is difficult for people to maintain social distance.
Editor's note: This story has been updated from its original version to correct the testing positivity rate. The health department originally provided the rate as 2.1% but has since revised it to 1.8%.
