McLean County is reporting 84 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the community's total probable and confirmed cases to 11,355.
There were nine additional COVID-19 deaths reported in McLean County. Those nine victims include two women in their 80s, two women in their 90s, and one man in his 90s who lived in long-term care facilities; as well as two women in their 70s, one man in his 70s, and one man in his 80s who didn't live in long-term care.
The county has reported 97 deaths since the outset of the pandemic. Thirty-two of those happened this month alone, breaking the previous grim, 25-death record set in November.
Sixty-four people are hospitalized for COVID-19 in Twin City hospitals. That includes 29 McLean County residents; 92% of the county's ICU beds are currently in use.
The county's rolling 7-day positivity rate is 7.8%.
Region 2, which includes McLean County, currently meets all the Illinois Department of Public Health metrics to ease up on the Tier 3 restrictions implemented on Nov. 20.
