Decades together: Valentine's Day stories from Westminster Village

It's a visit to Westminster Village for Valentine's Day.
It's a visit to Westminster Village for Valentine's Day.

It’s that day ... the day with Cupid, hearts, and heart-shaped treats, red, pink, white, and everything else in between. It is Valentine’s Day!

This day deserves a visit to a place where being together for several decades can be the norm. Being able to speak with Westminster Village residents Nan Ragsdale, Ellie and Myron Stackhouse, Geri Decker, and Judy Brown, WGLT's Ariele Jones learned that one acquires a lot of knowledge when you are with someone for that long.

From a necklace from a Doris Day and Rock Hudson movie to having "a song," to going on a date with a set of roommates and realizing one of them was meant to be your life partner, these tidbits and love histories are wide and varied ... just like love has been known to be.

The love histories of these residents are filled with experience and advice — and stories, we cannot forget the stories.

Be sure to honor your love moments today and every day.

Ariele Jones is WGLT's assistant program director and host of Morning Edition, Highway 309, and Center Stage.
