City Buys One Technology Parking Deck From Caterpillar

OSF HealthCare employees will have available parking when its new mission headquarters opens in downtown.

The Peoria City Council last night okayed the purchase of the One Technology parking deck from Caterpillar. The city will pay Cat $400,000 a year for five years. OSF in turn will pay the city $300,000 a year for 20 years to rent the 450 parking spaces.

OSF Vice President of Development Ryan Spain says the council approval is another step toward completion of the mission headquarters, the OSF administrative building two blocks south, and the parking deck.

"The closing of all of these activities would take place this week. So there is pen-up demand and urgency to get down to work for our community, to get more people into downtown Peoria," said Spain.

The headquarters will be home to 700 employees, and the administrative building, which was formerly Cat’s LD building, will have 400 employees.

Renovation of mission headquarters, which is the former Carson’s department store, will be completed in 2021.
