GLT Datebook: Prairie Fire Theater Stages Intimate Revue

Prairie Fire Theater
Prairie Fire Theater presents the musical revue, "Starting Here, Starting Now."

The works of Richard Maltby and David Shire take center stage in the revue, "Starting Here, Starting Now."

  • Prairie Fire Theateris staging the show in the Young Lounge of the Illinois Wesleyan University Memorial Center in Bloomington.
  • Show date are Friday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Cyndee Brown is the director, and the cast includes Joe Penrod, Jennifer Rusk, Cristen Monson, along with accompanyist Andrew Voelker.
  • The revue is a collection of theater "story" songs from shows written that didn't make it, as well as extra works Maltby and Shire felt fit the concept of the revue. Wry, tender, hysterical—the show fires on many cylinders and is an intimate evening of entertainment.
