A temporary HCC Trustee will serve until the April election.

The Heartland Community College Board of Trustees Tuesday night chose Jim Drew to fill the vacancy on the board created by the recent death of Greg Chadwick.

Drew, of Lincoln, will serve until voters choose a new trustee during the April 6, 2021 election. Two years remain on Chadwick’s unexpired term.

Drew previously served on the District 540 Community College Board from 2011-2017 and also was a vacancy appointment for several months in 2018-2019, said the college in a news release. Drew works for the Illinois Farm Bureau/Logan County Farm Bureau.

Individuals interested in seeking a position on the District 540 Board of Trustees in the April election can pick up required nominating petitions at the Heartland Community College executive office in Normal. The petitions must be returned between Dec 14 and 21.

Candidates must be 18 years old, a citizen of the United States and reside within the State of Illinois and District 540 for at least one year as of the election.
