Two Armed Robbers Hit Convenience Store in Bloomington

The suspects in the armed robbery at Six Points Food and Liquors released Monday by Bloomington police.

Police are investigating an armed robbery Monday afternoon at a convenience store in Bloomington’s southwest side.

The robbery happened around 1:50 p.m. at Six Points Food and Liquor, 1001 Six Points Road, police said.

The suspects were two males, one armed with a gun, who demanded money from the store employee. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money then left on foot.

Bloomington Police are also investigating whether Monday’s incident is connected to an April 18 armed robbery at a business on East Oakland Avenue. The suspects in both cases are black males, with one wearing goggles or glasses, police said.

“We are investigating all angles of both incidents which includes the possibility that both cases are related,” said Bloomington Police spokesperson John Fermon.

The employee was not injured during Monday's incident.

The Six Points Road suspects were described as black males, between 30-35 years old, wearing all black with their faces partially covered. One suspect was wearing glasses/goggles and had facial hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BPD Detective Jared Roth at (309) 434-2379. Any anonymous tipsters can call McLean County Crime Stoppers at (309) 828-1111.
